Best Thing About My Book: Fat Boy Chronicles by Lang Buchanan
Juliana Discher Bell 5
This is the tale of Jimmy, an overweight freshman in high school struggling to fit in. The story is written through a series of journal entries for his language arts teacher. Jimmy goes through constant bullying and has few friends. It's inspired by a true story. It has been adapted into a film. Click the video below to see the trailer!
The best thing about this book is how real it is. The emotions and struggles Jimmy goes through are so real compared to what someone in his position would go feel. I enjoy reading this book because I feel empathy for this poor kid.
It's also cool because this book takes place in Cincinnati, Ohio which is right by where I live. It talks about Kings Island and Cincinnati sports teams so I can relate to the book very well in that sense. I would recommend reading this novel :)
This book sounds so cool that I am going to lose an arm every second I'm not reading it. The fact that it has been adapted into a film only makes me want to read it even more.
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job explaining this book so people would be interested in reading it. I loved how you added in the trailer to give us another look on this book. I think this book is great on how much we can relate to it. If more kids read this book, maybe bullies would realize how they make others feel and all the bulling would stop. You should get this book to go around the Cincinnati area.
ReplyDeleteI remember reading it and I completely agree. I was intriguing to read about something that is happening in today's world. It really pulled emotions because you start to imagine how you would feel if it happened to you. I like how you expressed why you liked the book!
